Columbia Care Statement About Virginia’s Updated Law for its Medical Cannabis Program

June 30, 2022NEW YORKColumbia Care Inc.(NEO: CCHW) (CSE: CCHW) (OTCQX: CCHWF) (FSE: 3LP) (“Columbia Care” or the “Company”), one of the largest and most experienced cultivators, manufacturers and providers of cannabis products in theU.S., released the following statement in response to Virginia’s new law regarding patient registration for its medical cannabis program. Effective July 1, once patients receive a written certification from a registered practitioner, they can visit any licensed dispensary. They will no longer need to show proof of registration with the Virginia Board of Pharmacy (BOP).

“We applaud this step in making medical cannabis more accessible and affordable for patients,” said Nicholas Vita, CEO, Columbia Care. “Not only will this programmatic change help in clearing the backlog of thousands of patients who have been waiting for access to this life-changing medicine, but it will also facilitate the addition of new patients to the program. With this streamlined process and elimination of registration fees, we anticipate the current base of more than 51,000 registered patients to grow at a meaningful, impactful pace. We are grateful to the lawmakers and the Board of Pharmacy who are normalizing medical cannabis for those Virginians who need it most.”

Columbia Care is licensed for 12 total retail locations in Virginia, four of which are active with the remaining eight in development. The Company operates nearly 148,000 square feet of existing cultivation and production, with the capacity to expand.
